... Fill the ice chest with either ice or water. Then, go to a lake or river. Now if you are one for competition, then fishing derbies are for you. You can win different prizes for either the amount of fish you catch, the amount the fish weighs, or if the fish you catch has a number on it. If you just want to go fishing it is a wise choice to check around to find out what kind of fish are circling around in the area. Most times there will be just small fish and no one likes catching small fish. Also be sure to check the weather, because that can have a huge effect on what kind of fish will be out. Now make sure you wear appropriate clothing. You do not want to wear your best clothes to go fishing, because anything can happen and I do mean anything. Once you get to the where you want to fish set up everything. Get your pole out and put the bait on the hook. Cast the wire in the lake and be very patient. When you see a tug at your pole quickly start reeling in. Now sometimes you might reel in a boot or a sock, but it is okay just try it again. Some fish might put up a good fight, like catfish and bass fish. The moment you catch your fish be proud and embrace that moment. Take the hook out of the mouth and throw the fish in the bucket and take it home. Make sure you clean it properly before cooking it. Im sure your family does not want to eat scales and please take the eyes out, because trying to eat food that is staring at you becomes a sad and creepy meal.
